Day 3- I Choose To See

Friday, April 22

Think about the woman with the issue of blood. And the adulterous woman about to be stoned. Each time, Jesus paused to see beyond himself and be the answer she was desperately seeking. Ruth also paused to see, love, and do life together with Naomi—despite the cost. Girlfriends, this fast and focused prayer is not not so much about us, as it is about choosing to step out of the whirlwind of our life to see and respond to our sisters with the love and compassion of Christ. As women chosen by God, let’s be intentional about pausing to see beyond ourselves. Beautiful outcomes await!

“Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them…” – Matthew 9:36a

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”  – Romans 12:10

“…with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:3-4

PRAY:

  • “Open my eyes, Lord, that I may see…”
  • For a heart of humility, compassion and honor, and the grace for living that out
  • Ask Holy Spirit if there are specific women you should be praying for regularly during this 40-day fast. Write down names, specific prayer needs, and any practical, Spirit-led action you should take. This list will be a life source for your journey.

DECLARE:

I choose to see beyond myself. Through God’s eyes of love, I choose to  see my sisters – acknowledge the greatness in them, empathize with their pain, contend for their breakthroughs, celebrate their victories, be the answer they are seeking.
